Danny Vogelaar Obituary
VOGELAAR, Danny – of Hillman, formerly of Chesaning, died Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at his residence. He was 71 years of age.
Danny was born May 20, 1954, in Owosso to the late Robert and Donna (Maturen) Vogelaar. He was a 1973 graduate of Chesaning Union Schools. He was a resident of Chesaning until he retired and moved to Hillman in 2013. Mr. Vogelaar was a lifelong farmer in the Chesaning area. He was united in marriage to Mary Lepeak on January 2, 2002. Danny was an avid fisherman and loved taking care of his “Ausum Acres.”
Surviving are: wife, Mary; son, Danny Lee Vogelaar Jr. of Posen; daughter, Nicole (Mike) Benkert of Freeland; grandchildren: Ashton Benkert and Emma Benkert; stepson, Dale Weaver of Holt, MI and his children Cael, Sam, and Molly Weaver; stepdaughter, Brandi (Aaron) Welch of Oak Park, IL and their children Alice and Piper Welch; sisters: Deb (Dean) Miller of St. Charles, Diann (Will) Lucio of Chesaning, Darlene (Joe) Henning of Oakley, Karen Keroson (companion Gary Dingler) of St. Charles; many nieces, nephews, other family and dear friends.
Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Chesaning Future Farmers of America. Contributions are to be mailed to Chesaning High School, 850 North Fourth Street, Chesaning, MI 48616.
