Cooper, Charles F. – of New Haven Twp., a loving husband, dad, grandpa, uncle, and friend passed away Wednesday afternoon November 8, 2023, at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital, Saginaw, surrounded by his family. He was 83 years of age.
Charles was born in Flint on July 19, 1940, a son of the late Harold L. and Anna (Heppner) Cooper. He was united in marriage to Judith A. Maike in Chesaning on September 10, 1960. They have been residents of New Haven Twp. since 1977.
Charles worked at General Motors in Skilled Trades as a Cutter Grinder. He had 30 years of service before his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the Easton Church of Christ. He enjoyed woodworking and yard work, and he usually could be found working on vehicles, rebuilding motors, or repairing electronics. Through the years, Charles has helped many with his automotive and construction skills. He did pass those skills down to his children who continue to share his gifts with others.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Judy; their children, Chuck (ChoiMi) Cooper of Tacoma, WA, Gary (Renee) Cooper of Owosso, Sheila (Mike) Potter of New Lothrop, Doug (Becky) Cooper of Chesaning, Tom (Rose) Cooper of Owosso, and Joe (Amy) Cooper of Ovid; grandchildren, Chris and Chad Cooper, Elizabeth (Michael) McMillian, Adam Cooper, Nick (Kylie) Potter, Allie (Jerik) Koepplinger, Alex, Vica, and Ella Potter, Chelsea Goward, Bobby (Brittni) Cooper, Alisha (Matt) Cooper, Tiff Cooper, Joseph Cooper, Abby (Austin) Ralph, and Rebeka and Sam Cooper; many great-grandchildren; brother, Dale (Judy) Cooper; sister, Elaine Fisher; many nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wilbur, Bill, Ernie, Vernon, Bernard and Gary Cooper; brother-in-law, Bill Fisher; a son, Mark A. Cooper; and a grandson, Michael Charles Potter.
Brother Terry Strickler and Brother Jeff Strickler will be officiating at the funeral service being held at Noon, Monday, November 13, 2023, at Easton Church of Christ, 3477 Easton Road, Owosso.
