Charles A. Sadilek

SADILEK, Charles A. – of Chesaning, died Sunday, June 22, 2025, at his residence with his family at his side. He was 86 years of age.

Chuck was born on October 24, 1938, in Owosso to the late Charles and Rose (Hoder) Sadilek and was a lifelong resident of the Chesaning area. Chuck was a 1957 graduate of Chesaning High School. He served in the USMC from 1958 to 1959. Chuck was united in marriage to Elaine Bleisner on May 20, 1961, and had just celebrated their 64th anniversary. As a boy, he worked part time hauling milk with his father. He was employed by Peet Packing for 29 years then Charmilles Tech Manufacturing Co. where he retired from. He served on the Chesaning Show Boat Crew for 37 years, served as Show Boat Chairman in 1988, served on the Chesaning Village Board of Review for 7 years, was Board member of the Chesaning Valley Credit Union for 16 years, member of Mid-Michigan Old Gas Tractor Association, Chesaning Conservation Club, Chesaning JC’s, Zion Lutheran Church and Chesaning Brady Fire Department for 52 years. He enjoyed mounting turkey feathers, deer hunting, turkey hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR racing, football, wood working, and enjoyed helping his family with all sorts of projects.

Surviving are: wife, Elaine; sons: Jeffrey Sadilek, Donald Sadilek, and Douglas (Shannon) Sadilek, all of Chesaning; grandchildren: Jennifer (Craig) Weisenberger of Chesaning, Brandon Sadilek (fiancé Shelby Thompson) of Saginaw, Melanie Sadilek of Dewitt, Marra Bishop of Clio; great grandsons, Luke and Max Weisenberger of Chesaning; sisters: Patricia Schroeder and Sally (Ed) List all of Chesaning; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Arthur Schroeder.

Memorial services will be held at 11am Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church. Pastor Paul Tessmer officiating. Military honors to follow. Final inurnment will take place at Wildwood Cemetery at a later date. Memorial visitation will be at the Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning on Wednesday from 2-7pm with an honorary walk through by the fire department at 6pm.
