Bruce E. Sherwood Obituary
SHERWOOD, Bruce E. – of Montrose and California, died Sunday, January 14, 2024, at his residence. He was 89 years of age.
Bruce was born February 3, 1934, in Flint, MI to the late Henry and Hazel (Aikens) Sherwood. Bruce served in the US Navy from May 1951 to December 1954. He married Maxine Betts on January 23, 1955. She preceded him in death on August 2, 2017. Mr. Sherwood retired from Santa Fe Railroad as a conductor on December 16, 1994. He enjoyed watching football and war movies and playing video games.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a son, Timothy Sherwood on September 3, 2016. The family extends a special thanks to Tamara and Jason for their love and care.
A committal service with military honors will take place at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024, in Goodrich Cemetery. Rev. Nick Berlanga will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the US Navy and the American Legion Post 267 of Davison.
