Bessie Irene Maciejeski

MACIEJESKI, Bessie “Irene” – of Chesaning, died Thursday, April 16, 2026, at her residence. She was 76 years of age.

Irene was born June 1, 1949, in Chicago, IL. She was a resident of Chesaning most of her life. She was united in marriage to Richard Maciejeski on April 5, 1996. He preceded her in death on June 27, 2021. Irene was a member of the former Brady Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed walking into town, going to Petoskey, reading, puzzles, going to the casino and was an avid bingo player. 

Surviving are: daughter, Devin Combs of Mt. Morris; siblings: Nancy Ackerman of Chesaning, Rose Marie Eastham of Chesaning, Ellen Ackerman of Cheboygan, David (Angela) Ackerman of Cheboygan, Donald (Donna) Ackerman of St. Charles, Michael Ackerman of Chesaning; sisters-in-law: Susan Ackerman of Chesaning, Helen Wirostek of Oakley; many nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. She was also preceded in death by: son, Matt Williams; parents, Jack and Lorraine Ackerman; and a brother, Jack Frederick Ackerman

A Celebration of Irene’s Life will be held from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Showboat Park in Chesaning. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Compassus Hospice or the charity of one’s choice.
