Keeven, Bernard “Bernie” of St. Charles passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw, at the age of 89.
Bernie was born and raised on the family farm in St. Charles, MI on July 12, 1936, the son of the late Ferdinand and Sophie (Lienau) Keeven. He married his wife, Ruby Klein on June 4, 1955. They shared 70 years together. They moved to Saginaw until they bought their farm in 1963 raising crops until he retired from farming in 2000. He also worked at GM until his retirement in 1984. He enjoyed fishing, baseball games, playing cards and family gatherings.
Surviving are: his wife, Ruby Keeven; children, Diane (Jim) Thiers of Chesaning, Darrell (Sue) Keeven of St. Charles; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sister Marlene Van Patten of Holt; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Anna Blaine; brothers, Herman Keeven and Harold Keeven; nephews, Harold Blaine and Dean Keeven.
Honoring Bernie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Chesaning Future Farmers of America.
