MARK, Alverda M. – of Oakley, died Monday, December 21, 2020 at her residence She was 95 years of age.
Alverda was born November 12, 1925 in Oakley to the late Walter and Margaret (Archibald) McLosky and was a resident of Oakley and New Lothrop areas her entire life. She married Louis Mark in 1943. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2004. Mrs. Mark retired from Centurytel Telephone Company. Alverda enjoyed traveling, going to the casino, running her field dogs, fishing, and still holds the record for catching the most fish on Naknek Lake in Alaska.
Surviving are: son, Stephen (Von) Mark of Alaska; daughter, Sally Donaldson of Oakley; grandchildren: Robert (Jennifer) Canze, Stefanie (Kurt) Ferry, Sally (Rick) Moore, Les (Ireland Sutter) Donaldson; great grandchildren: Matt Ferry, Cody Ferry, Erin Canze, Zen Donaldson and Micah Donaldson; great great grandchildren: Ava, James, Cameron, Micayla, Courtney, Kellen, Ellodie and Griffin; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: siblings: Frances and husband Wilber Schmidt, Clyde and wife Barbara McLosky, Mitchell and wife Marilyn McLosky, Virginia Brown, Geraldine Greketis and Rosie Binkowski.
Sharing of memories will be held at the graveside 11 A.M. Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint. Contributions in her memory may be made to Carriage Town Ministries.
