Alberta M. (VanHorn) Terry

TERRY, Alberta – of Chesaning, died Friday, September 23, 2022 at the Meadows in Owosso. She was 100 years of age.

Alberta was born March 19, 1922 in New Haven Twp. and was a resident of Chesaning most of her life. She was united in marriage to Russell Ray Terry on November 15, 1939. He preceded her in death on December 10, 1993. Mrs. Terry was employed by Redmond’s then Midwest Abrasives where she retired after 30 years of service. She attended Easton Church of Christ. Alberta was active with the Prime Timers at First Church of Christ in Owosso. She loved to polka dance and sold Amway Products for a short period of time.  

Surviving are: sons, Don (Barb) Terry of Roscommon, Chet (Patricia) Terry, Russell “Butch” Terry of Chesaning; daughter-in-law, Linda Terry of Corunna; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Thelma (Harold) Schneider of Chesaning, Marlene (Warren) Black of Perry, Julia (Jim) Helmrich of Bay City; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: sons, Tommy and Gary; grandchildren, Wendy, Trisha, Kaye Marie and Allan; sister, Eleanor Hollerbach; brother, Bernard Mose; and a daughter-in-law, Janet Terry.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. with a Celebration of her life at 7 p.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to Memorial Hospice or the family. You may light a memorial candle or share a memory at misiukfuneralhome.com.
