Thomas L. Moore of Chesaning, died Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Chesaning Comfort Care. He was 84 years of age.
 
Tom was born January 29, 1934 in Hornersville, MO to the late Oscar and Myrtle (Meek) Moore and was a 1952 Graduate of Hornersville High School. He earned a BA in Marketing at Michigan State University. Tom was united in marriage to Margaret Stewart on June 22, 1957 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Oakley. He retired from Sears and Roebuck with 40 years seniority having served in various positions and regions with the company that took his family to Moline, Illinois, Minnesota, Kentucky, and Chicago, Illinois. He and Margaret retired to New Haven Township, MI in 1993 where he volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, Kiwanis, Befriender Ministries, Respite, and also participated in 2 mission trips to Haiti. He enjoyed gardening and traveling all over the Midwest and beyond to visit his children and ever-growing family. He finally attained a long-term goal of MA in Ministry from Marygrove College with combined studies at Notre Dame University. He then served as a Hospice Chaplain and a Commissioned Lay Minister with the Saginaw Diocese. Tom was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. Over the years he also coached and volunteered with his children's sports, theater and music programs. He was a devoted Cubs Fan and an avid reader. One of the things he was best known for was his quest for knowledge and education.
 
He is survived by: wife, Margaret; children: Thomas (Suzanne) Moore of Overland Park, KS, Kevin (Baryn) Moore of Cleveland, OH, Helen (Bill) Pothen of Minneapolis, MN, Kelly (Jacki) Moore of St. Louis, MO, Tara (Scott) Shorey of New Haven Twp.; 12 grandchildren: Sarah (Scott) Graybeal, Amy (Adam) Kincaid, Stephanie (Kevin) Wagner, Thomas (Karen) Pothen, Nicole (Ben) Spencer, Catherine Pothen, Jake (Elizabeth) Moore, Kristopher Moore, Donovon Moore, Cassie Shorey, Allie Shorey and Lillie Shorey; 10 great grandchildren; many devoted nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by: sister Earlene Aytes and Allene Perkins; and a brother Raymond “Bud” Moore.
 
Fr. William Gruden will celebrate Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday October 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 404 S. Wood St. in Chesaning. Cremation to follow with inurnment at New Haven Twp. Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be Monday from 2-8 p.m. at the Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Contributions in his memory may be made to the River Rapids District Library in Chesaning.
