Passed away early Thursday morning, September 14, 2017, age 82, at the Saginaw Geriatrics Home.  His Funeral Mass will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at St. Peter Parish Catholic Church, 404 S. Wood Street, Chesaning.  Rev. Fr. William Gruden will officiate.  Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery, Chesaning.  Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and again from 10:00 a.m. to Noon Tuesday at Misiuk Funeral Home of Chesaning.  A Wake Service will be 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.  His family will be present at the church to greet friends from 1:00 p.m. Tuesday until time of the Mass.
 
Robert was born in St. Charles, Michigan on November 10, 1934, the son of Henry W. and Mary Barbara (Zuzula) Albers.  Robert was a US Army Veteran.  He served from 1953 to 1956 in Europe during the time of the Korean War.  He married Pauline P. Mills on July 18, 1959.  They were married over 40 years before she preceded him in death on December 21, 1999.
 
Robert was a retired GM production worker.  He had worked 30½ years at the Fisher Body Plant on Coldwater Road, Flint.  He was a member of U.A.W. Local 326, Chesaning Knights of Columbus Council 2943, the Chesaning American Legion Post 212, and the Owosso Eagles.  He enjoyed playing baseball, especially on the American Legion league, and football.  Robert had played baseball and softball since he was nine years old and was very athletic well into his 70’s.
 
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Tim (Mary) Albers of Saginaw; his stepchildren, Cliff (Joan) Gibson of Burt, Pat (Jim) McGraw of East Lansing, Paul Gibson, Sr. of St. Charles, and Kristine “Sue” (Mick) Williams of Chesaning; stepdaughter-in-law, Vickie Gibson; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary Lou (William) Armstrong of Saginaw Twp.; nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Pauline; a stepson, Ronald Gibson; and his brother, Jim Albers.
 
Charitable donations may be given in memory of Robert to the Saginaw Geriatrics Home Activity Fund.
