GROSS, Melvin James – of Chesaning, died Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Chesaning Comfort Care. He was 68 years of age.
Melvin was born August 22, 1951 in Saginaw to the late Carl and Agnes (Wenzlick) Gross and was a resident of Chesaning his entire life. He was married to Penny Nichols in 1972. She preceded him in death. He then married Patricia Kettler in 1986. She preceded him in death in 2013. Mr. Gross retired from Farmer Peets in 1998 with 35 years seniority. He was a member of AARP. Melvin enjoyed all sports especially football and baseball.
Surviving are: children: Chad Gross of Montrose, Gloria Stuart and husband Gregg Hoff of Mt. Pleasant, Racheal Stuart and spouse Kate Hartnett of New Hampshire; grandchildren, Kenzie Wilhelm of Montrose and Ian Stuart-Hoff of Mt. Pleasant; siblings: Carol DeShazo of SC, Bill Gross, Dorothy (Tom) Wendling, Joe (Sandy) Gross; brother-in-law Dennis Weisenberger, all of Chesaning; dear friends, Tom Selleck, Frank Lycka, and Dick Birdsley; many nieces, nephews and other dear friends. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Weisenberger; brother-in-law, Ray DeShazo; and sister-in-law, Joyce Gross.
Pastor Tim Woycik will officiate the funeral services on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning. Burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery in St. Charles. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. You may light a memorial candle or share a memory at misiukfuneralhome.com.
