Passed away peacefully on Monday, May 29, 2017, at Bavarian Comfort Care in Bridgeport at age 75. She was born in Saginaw on May 19, 1942, daughter of the late Celesta and Christine (Richter) Minnick. Mary Ellen married Raymond C. “Ray” Tithof of Chesaning on December 9, 1967. She retired from the Hartley Outdoor Education Center in St. Charles in 1998. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and selling vegetables and her crafts at farmers markets with her husband. Mary Ellen was a loving wife and wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Peter Parish in Chesaning.
Mary Ellen is survived by her two children, Charles (Kathy) Tithof and Russ (Theresa) Tithof; grandchildren, Madeline and Andrew Tithof (Charles and Kathy’s children); her sisters, Kathy Minnick and Dawn (David) Miller; a brother, David (Connie) Minnick; and several nieces and nephews. Ray, her husband of 48 years, preceded her in death in 2016.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2017, at the Misiuk Funeral Home of Chesaning. A committal service and burial at Great Lake National Cemetery in Holly will follow at 1:30 p.m. that same day.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations given in Mary Ellen’s memory are requested to Medical Team Hospice.
