Marianne M. Bogen of Elsie, age 71, passed away Thursday morning, January 18, 2018, at her home. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be announced later.
Marianne was born in Detroit on July 4, 1946, the daughter of Emil and Imelda (Thomas) Bogen. Marianne attended and graduated from the Holy Redeemer High School in Detroit in the Class of 1964. She married Charles J. “Charlie” Stover in Detroit in 1971. Marianne received her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Michigan in 1998. She taught for 31 years at the Ovid-Elsie High School, mostly in their Special Education Department. She also was the Ovid-Elsie Marauders former Quiz Bowl Coach. Marianne was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing flowers, especially calla lilies.
Those left to cherish her memory included her husband, Charlie; their son, Chuck Jesse Stover; her granddaughter, August Stover; her four sisters and a brother, Ann and John Jacobs, Nancy Bogen and Pete Micol, Janet Bogen and Chuck Mapes, Bill and Cynthia Bogen, and Diane and Joe Mikulec; and other loving family and friends. Marianne was preceded in death by her parents.
Charitable donations may be given in memory of Marianne to the Salvation Army.
