Marianne was a great advocate for her students and believed in them being included with all students and having the same opportunities. She was a great role model for me as a teacher and she never hesitated to set me straight on issues if we disagreed. It was an honor to work across the hall with her for many years and I will always remember her cheerful outlook on life.

I cannot recall a day when Marianne didn’t enjoy teaching and being with the kids. As her boss and friend, Ovid-Elsie High School was clearly blessed to have her. She always gave another perspective to any discussion. Her love for life and willingness to help everyone made her a real asset. The world lost an angel and she will be missed!

Charlie, so sorry to hear about the death of your wife. I met her when I worked at Town Tub. I always enjoyed when we had time to talk. Take care of yourself in this hard time. May God be with you and your family at this time.

I taught with Marianne at Ovid-Elsie High School and she taught me how to live openly without abandon; to be comfortable in my skin and to laugh. I have many fond memories of her and enjoyed talking with her about many things, especially after her granddaughter arrived. I don't know if anything made her smile more! I send my deepest sympathy to her family.

It is a privilege to call Marianne my friend. I came to know and love Bogie when I accepted a position, at O-E High School, in 1991. She was a wonderful teacher--demanding the best from her students--and getting it. She was a nurturer, a "mother earth" kind of individual; I never met anyone like her. She was "substance", not "showy". Bogie loved her family above all else, but she was a true and faithful friend to all who knew her well. She was so proud of her son Chuck and "over the moon" about her granddaughter August's accomplishments. I am sorry I missed telling her goodbye. Rest in peace, sweet sister.

Jesse and Charlie
I'm so sorry for your loss. Marrianne was such a wonderful person and I enjoyed every moment I spent with her--especially at the library. She helped so many kids in her life time and holds a special place in their hearts.

My sister Marianne was one of my best friends and a great sister. She loved to beat me at Scrabble, but shared with me her love of water aerobics and going camping. I miss my little sister.

Ann, Nancy, Janet, Bill and Diane,

I am so saddened to hear the news of the loss of your beautiful sister Marianne. She was instrumental during my childhood years. I remember her as a happy, loving, funny, giving and caring woman who was also very kind.

May your memories of your beautiful sister carry you during the years of sadness and the void that you will all feel.

Love to all of you,
Suzanne.

My sister was a beautiful, plain speaking, hard working teacher, wife, mother and grandmother. She was loving and kind, and through her illness thankful for the loving care of her husband, Charlie, and her son Jesse. All of us will miss her so much, but she is out of pain now and with our parents, probably on the beach in Clearwater, FL where she spent many happy vacations with them. She will always be with us in our memories and in our hearts.
