Mancell L. Boyd, Jr. Obituary
Mancell L. Boyd Jr. of Chesaning, age 81, passed away late Monday evening, April 8, 2019, at Chesaning Comfort Care. He was born in Owosso on August 18, 1937, the son of the late Mancell L. and Wava (Hammond) Boyd. He graduated from Chesaning Union High School in 1956. He was a proud US Navy Veteran.
Mancell was a longtime resident of Chesaning before moving to Florida in the 1980’s. He was a former State Farm insurance agent in Chesaning. He loved fishing and golfing, and while in Florida, he owned and operated a stained-glass store.
Those left to cherish his memory included his two children, Stephanie Boyd and John Boyd, and their mother, Karen Boyd, all of Chesaning; two step-children, Jennie (Bryon) Wolcott and Jeff Adams, all of Florida; two grandchildren, Brittany and Johnathon Boyd; his four brothers, Ron, Richard, David and Donald Boyd; his two sisters, Debra King and Darlene DeLong; many nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his second wife, Mary Jo (McWilliams) Boyd, and then just recently a sister, Marysue “Suzie” Dumond, on March 20, 2019.
Mr. Boyd has been cremated. A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, April 18, 2019, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Misiuk Funeral Home. Burial with US Navy funeral honors at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly will be announced later. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
