Lillian May (Velat) Kuchar

KUCHAR, Lillian May – of Chesaning, died Friday, May 10, 2019 at McLaren of Flint. She was 92 years of age.

Lillian was born March 26, 1927 in Flint to the late Charles and Anna (Stehlik) Velat. Lillian was a hard-working woman who loved cooking and baking, Lillian enjoyed crocheting, bingo, casinos, crafts and QVC. She especially enjoyed Czech and Polka music. The highlight of Lillian’s year was always Christmas Eve with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She drove bus for Chesaning Union School for many years.

She is survived by 6 of her 8 sons: Donald, Dennis (Barb), Dave (Diane), Randy (Arlene), Gerald (Esther), and Tom (Shelly); 11 grandchildren: Greg, Steven, Stephanie, Chelsea, Holly, Travis, Dana, Andrea, Bret, Scott and Kevin; and several great-grandchildren. Lillian was also preceded in death by her 2 sons, Daryl and Richie.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at St. Peter Parish, 404 S. Wood St. in Chesaning. Fr. William Gruden to celebrate. Burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 12 p.m. You may light a memorial candle or share a memory at misiukfuneralhome.com.
