John Mikel Obituary
John A. Mikel of Chesaning, age 46, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018. His visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 7 and his funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday February 8, 2018, at Misiuk Funeral Home of Chesaning. Pastor Dan Mikel will officiate. Private burial Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Wildwood Cemetery in Chesaning Township.
John was born in Danville Illinois on February 18, 1971. He was united in marriage to the former Susan C. Clink on August 2, 1996. She preceded him in death on August 27, 2014.
John worked as an administrative officer at the Aleda E Lutz V.A Medical Center of Saginaw. He had been heavily involved in the Chesaning Boy Scout Troop 335 with his wife and children. He was a proud father of two Eagle Scouts and a mentor to many more. He was a Red Wings fan. He enjoyed hunting of all sorts, fishing, boating, camping, going to the movies, riding his motorcycle, and enjoying concerts with his friends and family.
John is survived by two children, Aaron Mikel and James (Bobbilynn) Miller, all of Chesaning; granddaughter, Elizabeth Miller; his companion, Michelle Alberts of Millington; his mother, Cheri Fox of Illinois; his father, Joe (Mickey) Mikel of Illinois; brother, Dan (Missy) Mikel of Illinois; sister, Tami Mikel Hack, MO; maternal grandfather, Robert Fox; paternal grandmother, Helen Mikel; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and numerous friends.
John is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Joyce Fox; maternal grandfather Roscoe Mikel; mother-in-law, Helen Clink; and father-in-law David Clink.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be given in memory of John to the Chesaning Boy Scout Troop 335.
