Of Roscommon, Michigan

 

Passed away Tuesday evening, January 17, 2017, at the Hospice House of Shiawassee County of Owosso.  He was 78 years old.  Per Jerry's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.

 

Gerald was born in Chesaning Twp. on November 5, 1938.  He was the son of Robert and Sadie (Yarabek) Coon.  Jerry had served in the National Guard.  He worked as a self-employed truck driver.

 

Those left to cherish his memory included his three children, Gloria (Darrell) Soukup of Oakley, Joe (Lisa) Coon of Oakley, and Jerry (Darcy) Coon of Goodrich; ten grandchildren, Tabitha (Jeremy) Constine, David (Nicole) Whelton, Jessica (Sean) Smith, Britney (Shaun) Keenan, Nick (Stephanie) Percy, Josh Coon, Taryn Coon, Katie Coon, Jennifer Coon, and Stephanie Coon; five great-grandchildren; his brothers, Randy Coon and Dennis (Sandy) Coon; his sisters, Diane Kulhanek and Carole (Del) Vrable; nieces and nephews; other loving family and friends; and his dog, Buddy.  Those who passed before him include his parents; a sister, Marlene Streeter; and two brothers, Jim Coon and Tom Coon
