GORTON, Gerald L. – of St. Charles, died Thursday, June 6, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 74 years of age.
Gerald was born August 10, 1944 in Lansing, MI to the late Byron and Beatrice (Wise) Gorton. He was a resident of St. Charles for the past 5 years coming from Chesaning. Gerald was united in marriage to Bonnie Bentley on September 20, 1975 in Williamston. He was a farmer most of his life and upon retirement became a sexton at Summit Cemetery in Williamston for 10 years. Gerald enjoyed fishing and being with his family.
He is survived by: his wife, Bonnie; daughters: Connie (John) Winn of White Lake, Cynthia (James Jr.) Bell of Oakley; grandchildren: Andrew Vedder, Chelsea Bell, Kyleigh Vedder, Dillon (Tiffany) Bell, Brianna Clark, Tye Bell, Elizabeth Bell, Jake Winn, Amia Bell; great grandchildren: Bentley, Titan, Sebastian, Ronin, and one on the way, Lillionna; several nieces and nephews; and his fur baby, Rasppy. He was also preceded in death by a great grandson, Caleb Clark; and his father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Jean Bentley.
Honoring Gerald’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be on Tuesday June 11, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. at the Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning with a memorial service at 7 p.m. Charles Roussel to officiate.
