Passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017, age 77, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at St. Peter Parish Catholic Church, 404 S. Wood Street, Chesaning.  Rev. Fr. William Gruden will officiate.  Inurnment will be later at the Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.  Gerald’s family will be present at the church to greet friends from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of the Mass.
 
Gerald was born in Burt, Michigan on July 24, 1940, the son of John and Victoria (Kobanowski) Koviack.  Gerald graduated from Chesaning High School in the Class of 1958.  He was Veteran of the US Army, having served from 1958 to1960.  He married Julie A. Agnew at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Chesaning on August 4, 1962.
 
Gerald retired from GM as a Millwright Supervisor.  He worked 34 years at Fisher Body and eight years at Buick City.  He was a long time member of St. Peter Parish Catholic Church of Chesaning (formerly Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church).  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.  He was a “Jack of all trades” and was always happy to help others.
 
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Julie; his children, Connie Teller of Toledo, Ohio, Kimberly (Randy) Stivers of Montrose, and Christopher (Deanna) Koviack of Temperance; grandchildren; Andrew Teller, Amy Teller, Ashlende Teller, Brooke Stivers, Sarah Koviack, Molly Koviack, and Nathan Koviack; step-grandchildren, Randy Stivers, Alex Stivers, and Tausha Dyer; a great-granddaughter is expected soon; his brothers, John (Lynn) Koviack of Reese and Michael (Dianne) Koviack of Oakley; his sisters, Teresa (Wally) Weatherbee of Pontiac and Vickie Henige (Larry Kammer) of Frankenmuth; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and other loving family and friends.  Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rose Feit and Celia Shooltz; and a son, Joseph Gerald.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
