My condolences to the Larner family. George gave me one of my first jobs years ago working after school and summers at the bank. He was a good teacher and it was a great learning experience for me. One of the most admirable people I have ever worked with. So sorry for your loss.

Our sympathies to George's family....what a wonderful gentleman. I loved stopping at his veggie stand, chatting and listening to his knowledge of gardening....and buying Marilyn's lovely bouquets. He even talked me into buying a bushel of tomatoes (more than once) when that wasn't what I stopped for....loved every encounter I ever had with him. God bless his big heart.

Condolences to all the Larner family. George was a kind and giving man. I remember going into the bank as a young boy and he always made a point to make you feel important. His many years of service to his church and his community was appreciated by all. RIP.

So sorry to hear of George's passing. He was a great neighbor. A visit to the Larners was always lovely. The garden tips and sharing of bulbs and plants was always fun and exciting. Such a blessing he was to our family.

A SHADES OF ELEGANCE was ordered on October 16, 2017

Message from Rev. George and Alice Ward
October 15, 2017 3:10 PM

We have many wonderful memories of George and his family. When we arrived at Trinity UMC in 1993, we discovered that George had planted some tomato plants in the flower garden behind the parsonage, because he knew that Alice wanted to have a vegetable garden and it was too late in the season to start one. That was only the first of many times George went above and beyond his duties as a Church Trustee to make sure the parsonage was a comfortable home for us. He was as kind and generous with others through his work in the Church and in the Chesaning community. He was a fellow Rotarian and a brother in Christ. Our prayers of sympathy and support go to his family and friends.

To the Larner Family: I am so sorry for your loss. George was one of the men I always looked up to and admired. Quite a guy-in the bank, on the ball diamond and in church. Deepest condolences. John

I don't remember ever not knowing George. Whatever my Dad's current large purchase was, all Mom had to do was call George then go in and pick up the check waiting for her, all she had to do was sign my Dad's name on the promissory note. Too bad a man's word (or woman's word) doesn't mean now what it meant then. I, for one, am better off from knowing him.
Rest In Peace Mr. Larner.
