Passed away Good Friday morning, April 14, 2017, at his home and surrounded by his family. He was 83 years old. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the Misiuk Funeral Home of Chesaning, officiated by Pastor Herb Wheelock and Mr. Jerry Reitano. Burial will follow at the Ridge Road Cemetery in Brady Twp. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Alex was born March 13, 1934, in Chapin Twp., the son of Harold G. and Kathryn D. (Herron) McClelland. He married Irene Fockler in Chapin Twp. on July 17, 1954. She preceded him in death on August 9, 2005.
Mr. McClelland worked for General Motors at their Fisher Body Plant in Lansing and later retired in June of 1983. He was a member of the Chapin United Methodist Church and proudly served as a Lay Minister.
Those left to cherish his memory include his two children and their spouses, Debra and Robert Hunt of Elsie, Dan and Kim McClelland of Ashley; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Jane Widener; two brothers, Daniel McClelland, Douglas and wife Judy McClelland; nieces and nephews; his special friend, Shirley Sickles; and other loving family and friends. Those who have passed before him include his beloved wife of 51 years, Irene; two sons, Alex “Rob” and David; a brother, David; and a special friend, Pat Hart.
Charitable donations may be given in memory of Alex to the Chapin United Methodist Church or the Memorial Hospice of Owosso.
