Carla J. Krause Obituary
KRAUSE, Carla J. - of Chesaning, died Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Chesaning Comfort Care. She was 88 years of age.
Carla was born December 17, 1935, in Chesaning to the late Max and Joyce (Burlingame) Bowyer and was a lifelong resident of Chesaning. She was united in marriage to Donald Krause on August 14, 1954. He preceded her in death on February 23, 2016. Mrs. Krause was a teacher at Chesaning Union Schools from 1968 to 1988 and also did private counseling until 2020. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chesaning. Carla had a sincere love for people. She was very sociable and outgoing, enjoying life, full of laughter, and tried to get away with whatever she could. She shared her knowledge with the students she taught, and especially enjoyed helping and counseling those in need until she was no longer able to help.
Surviving are: daughter, Brenda (Jeff) Bailey of St. Johns; son, Donald Krause (companion Tammy) of Chesaning; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bernice (Carl) Vogelaar of Cadillac and Janet Jones of Burton; sister-in-law, Virginia Siewert of Rochester Hills; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was also preceded in death by: daughter, Lorna Krause Newman; granddaughter, Kayla Krause; daughter-in-law, Patty Krause; and a sister, Jackie Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chesaning. Pastor Paul Tessmer officiating. Burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning on Monday from 2-7 p.m. with a time to share memories at 6 p.m. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11a.m.
