 Passed away early Friday morning, April 6, 2012 at the Chesaning Nursing Care Center, Age 83. The Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, April 10 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Chesaning. The family will be at the church on Tuesday morning starting at 9:00 am.  Visitation at the funeral home will take place on Monday from 2-8 pm. John had been the principal at Chesaning High School for many years.

 John was born April 29, 1928 in Hastings, Michigan. His parents were James S. and Clara (Lenz) Malcolm. John was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. On Feb. 19, 1949 John married Patricia (Maurer). She is left to mourn him. Other loved ones left to mourn him include his children and their spouses: John (Sheila) Malcolm, Boulder, CO.,  Mary Ann (Michael) Himmelspach, Waterford.  James (Jeanne) Malcolm, Oakley,  Thomas (Patty) Malcolm, Eldersburg, MD.,  Michael (Elisa) Malcolm, Breckenridge, CO.  18 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. His 2 sisters and 1 brother: Rachel Stewart, Lake City,  Julia Mead, St. Helen,  Dennis (Fran) Malcolm, Battle Creek.  NUMEROUS nieces and nephews. Those who have passed away include his parents, an infant sister Alice, His brothers in law, Floyd Stewart and Gordon Mead. Memorial envelopes are available at the funeral home for the Chesaning Nursing Care Center or Chesaning Schools.
