Theodore J. “Teddy” Vudures

Formerly of Oakley

 

Passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 3, 2016, at his loving sister’s home in Saginaw Twp.  He was 86 years old.  Teddy was born in Chicago, IL on December 1, 1929, the son of Harry J. and Isabelle (Wizner) Vudures.  He married Mary Ann Gable and they had three children, Jeannine, Kathleen, and Harry.  Teddy and Mary owned and operated the former Teddy’s Restaurant in Oakley for 18 years.

 

Teddy was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served for 24 years as a Paratrooper with the 101st Airborne.  He had been shot and wounded in combat while serving in Korea.

 

Teddy is survived by his children, Jeannine (Arend) Smink of the Netherlands and Harry (Tammy) Vudures of Bancroft; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary H. Vudures of Saginaw Twp. and Elaine Harris of Midland; a brother, John (Velda) Vudures of Saginaw Twp.; nieces and nephews; and son-in-law, Richard Neitling of Chesaning.

 

Those who have passed before him include his parents, Harry and Isabelle Vudures; his beloved wife, Mary, on January 1, 2009; and a daughter, Kathleen Joy Neitling, on July 14, 2016.

 

Cremation was taken place.  Military funeral honors at the Great Lakes National Cemetery will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, August 15, 2016.
