Passed away Sunday morning, May 28, 2017, at the Ashley Care Center, at age 76.  His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017, at the Brady Center Wesleyan Church, 17108 South Hemlock Road, Oakley.  Pastor Joe Ruder will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Ridge Road Cemetery in Brady Twp.  Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Misiuk Funeral Home of Chesaning.  His family will be present at the church to welcome friends from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until time of the funeral service. 
 
Roy was born in Dayton, Ohio on July 9, 1940, the son of Clyde and Martha Jane (Boatman) Henley.  Roy was a US Army Veteran, having served during the Vietnam Era.  He married Norita Kinsey at the Brady Center Wesleyan Church on December 31, 1966.  Roy had worked for Farmer Peet’s Meat Packing Company for 29 years and then at Versatrim in Howell for nine years.  He was a member of the Brady Center Wesleyan Church where he served as a member of the church board and ushered for over 50 years.  He loved his family and enjoyed reading, hiking in the woods, photography, drawing, singing, and watching Westerns.
 
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Norita Henley of Oakley; their daughter, Nancy (Leon) Flores, and his grandchildren, Joey and Naomi Flores, all of St. Charles; his mother, Martha Jane Henley of Ashley; his sister, Linda (Mike) Richardson-Belcher of Saginaw; brothers-in-law, Walter (Kathleen) Kinsey, Lloyd (Kathy) Peck, and Richard (Linda) Peck; sisters-in-law, Sharon Kinsey, Florence (Jerry) Boulis, and Betty Muscott; nieces and nephews, Vicki (Steve) Nelson, Janelle (Lane) Henley-Wild, Michael (Jamie) Sleeseman, Mark (Jennifer) Kinsey, Lisa (Jason) Legg, Lori (Mike) Carpenter, and Scott Kinsey; and several more nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Henley; father-in-laws, Leslie Kinsey and Arlie Peck; mother-in-law, Lulu Peck; brothers-in-law, Art Kinsey, Gordon Peck, R.G. Peck, and Dick Phelps; and sisters-in-law, Doris Wilkie, Lucille Phelps, and Carol Peck.
 
The family gives a special thank-you to Dr. Teal and his staff and to Dr. Morris, Dr. Anderson, Patty Weaver, and the nurses and staff at the Ashley Care Center for all their compassionate care and support.
 
Charitable donations given in memory of Roy can be made to the Brady Center Wesleyan Church or to the wishes of the family.
