Passed away Saturday August 1, 2015, at Maple Woods Manor in Clio at age 93.   Cremation has taken place.  A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 21, 2015, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 400 N. Saginaw Street, Montrose with Father Gordon Reigle officiating.  Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Grand Blanc.

Ray was born February 16, 1922, in Flint, one of nine children born to George and Irene Roberts.  Ray was a 1940 graduate of Flint Northern High School.  He married Joyce Vogler on June 26, 1943.  After retiring from Chevrolet in 1979 with 33 years of service, Ray and Joyce spent their winters in Englewood, Florida and summers at Hubbard Lake, Michigan.  After Joyce’s death in 2006, Ray moved to Montrose where he enjoyed being involved in activities at the Montrose Senior Center.

Ray is survived by his children, Michael of Monroe, Timothy (Dianne) of Davision, Pamela Brantley (John Bradford) of Montrose, Mark (Danita) of Clio, and Patricia (Jeff) Birchmeier of Montrose; grandchildren, Brett Roberts, Lauren Roberts, Sean (Christa) Benner, Brie Roberts (Nick Rowan), Matthew (Penny) Brantley, Jennifer (Scott) McDowell, Melissa Birchmeier and Kyle Birchmeier; ten great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and one sister, Eleanor.  He was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings, and his wife, Joyce.
