Of Oakley, MI.

Passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing.  Age 88 years. He was the husband of Barbara J. (Welch) Maike. They shared 66 years together. He was born in Maple Grove Twp. He was the son of Fred and Theresa (Constine) Maike. He was a graduate of Chesaning High School. He served his country during WW II in the Army. 

Leonard was the retired Owner and President of Main Beverage Company, Owosso, Michigan. He was a member of St. Peter Parish of Chesaning and former member of St. Michael Catholic, Oakley. He also belonged to the Eagles Club of Owosso, The Chesaning American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus, Chesaning. He loved Boating, Fishing, Camp Cooking and spending Winters in Florida and providing ice cold Budweiser to his customers. 

He will be remembered for his generosity, integrity, joke telling and spending time with his family and being Bud Man.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Maike; children, Christine Devereaux (Stewart), Sandy German (Roger), Carol Kim (George, deceased), Jo Ellen Zuckswerdt (Michael), Elaine Maike, and Keith Maike (Aimee); grandchildren, Mark (Kelley) Devereaux, Mandy (Pete) Volk, Shasta (David) Newton, Dawn (John) McDonagh, Sherry (Jeremy) Cervantes, Samantha (Tim) Wilson, Melissa Kim, Shelby Jo Turner, Kalvin Maike, Brandon Maike, Shain Maike; and 13 great-grandchildren. 

He was predeceased by 8 siblings; a grandson, Zachary M. Ostrander; and a son in law, Thomas Lycka. 

Friends may call at The Misiuk Funeral Home of Chesaning on Tuesday April 5 from 2-7 pm. The Knights of Columbus will pray the Rosary at 6:30 pm. 

Holy Mass will take place on Wednesday, April 6 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Oakley at 10:00 am. Family and friends are welcome at the church starting at 9:00 am.  Rev. Fr. William Gruden will officiate. Following Mass Military Honors will be conducted by the Chesaning American Legion. Cremation will follow. 

Memorials may be made to St. Peter Parish, Chesaning or The Rehmann Health Center.
