Passed away Thursday afternoon June16, 2016 at his home, after a long illness. He was 68 yrs. old.
John has been cremated and no services are planned.
John was retired from G.M. He had worked in Flint "Down in the hole". He was a proud Marine Veteran. He also had been policeman for Brady Twp. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Valley of Bay City Scottish Rite, and a Elf Khurafeh Shriner. He also belonged to the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis (Hawes). His children: John Sims Jr., Lucas Sims, Elisabeth Sims. 2 of his children have passed away: Chuck Sims and Christina Currier. Proud grandpa to 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Also left to mourn him include his brother Benny Sims, His sisters Darlene Rodriguez and Sandra Young.
