John T. Pitt Sr.

Of Chesaning, Michigan

 

Passed away early Saturday morning July 16, 2016, at his home after a long illness.  He was 77 years old.  John was born May 23, 1939, in St. Louis, Michigan.  He was the son of William and Mary (Kulhanek) Pitt.  John was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.  He belonged to the Chesaning American Legion.  He also belonged to the Knights of Columbus, St. Christopher Council #2943 and was also in the 4th degree of the Knights of Columbus.  John was retired from GM / Buick, Flint and a member of Local #599. 

 

Those left to mourn him include his wife, Jeanne (Turnwald) Pitt; his 3 sons, John Pitt Jr. of Grand Rapids, William (Michelle) Pitt of Naples, Florida, Michael (Linda) Pit of Grand Rapids; his 8 grandchildren, Natasha, Jessica, Morgan, Jacob, Brad, Brooke, Taylor and Cameron; his brother, Jim Pitt; and his sister-in-law, Margaret. 

 

His brother, George, and sister-in-law, Marie Pitt, have passed away. 

 

Friends may call at the Misiuk Funeral Home of Chesaning on Monday July 18, 2016, from 3:00-8:30 pm.  The Knights of Columbus will pray the Rosary on Monday evening at 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

 

The Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at 10:00 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, Owosso.  The family will be at the church starting at 9:00 am to welcome friends.  Rev. Fr. Dieu Donne Ntakarutinana will officiate.  Final prayers, military honors and burial will take place at 1:30 pm Tuesday at Resurrection Cemetery, Chesaning Twp. 

 

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church or Memorial Healthcare Hospice.
