I met Jerry at Higgins Lake in 2003 we shared a love for Fishing!
We took his Nephew the Army Col. Lake Trout Fishing.
Jerry loved ice fishing & trolling for Rockies!
The last I saw Jerry was at Hill Top Assisted Living in May 2016.
I have many fond memories of Jerry!
Rest assured Jerry is fishing in Heaven!

This is my uncle, he lived at Higgins Lake. On August 5th, 2005, I flew my plane up to Roscommon County Airport and Uncle Jerry met me there, from there we flew down to Willow Run Airport where they were having the largest gathering of WW II planes since the war, they had every plane there that was used in the war, he showed me the ones he was associated with, the B 24 was the one he was involved with in combat, and with which he said he was trained to operate all of the different positions of the gunners, including the belly turret gunner, the little bubble under the plane that you crawled thru the bomb bay to get to, the gunners suit was electrified to keep them warm, and once his plane was hit so many times that his wires were severed and he about froze to death. They were giving rides and tours of the B 24, I offered to pay to go on a ride with him, he said no, I then wanted him to go thru it on the tour with me so he could show me first hand his accounts, he said no, his response was that "the last time I got out of that plane from a run I said that I will never get in one again"
Uncle Jerry, may you rest in peace with your combat buddies, Gene
