Passed away at his home Monday afternoon November 30, 2015. Age 85. James has been cremated and a private military service at Great Lakes National Cemetery,Holly is to be held.
James was born October 16, 1930, in Swifton, Arkansas. His parents were Melvin and Hazel (Smith) Fortenberry. James proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was retired from Baker Perkins, Saginaw. He had lived in Albee Twp. before moving to Montrose.
Loved ones left to mourn his passing include his wife JoAnn (Hawley) Fortenberry of Montrose; his children, Patti (Duane) Linton of Montrose, Terry (Linda) Fortenberry of Montrose, Mark Fortenberry of Flushing; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Fortenberry of Montrose; 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; His son, Brian Fortenberry, just passed away 8 days ago on November 22, 2015. One brother and one sister also have passed away.
