George was born in Saginaw on November 30, 1931, the son of Stephan and Elizabeth (Yablonka) Lorencz.  George was a US Army Veteran and was honorably discharged after serving his country during the Korean War.  He married the love of his life, Dorothy Czuba, on October 1, 1955.  Together they raised a family with eight children.  He loved being a father.

George worked and later retired from Globe Union/Johnson Controls of Owosso.  He was a member of V.F.W. Post 6579 of New Lothrop, the Knights of Columbus of Chesaning, and St. Michael Catholic Church of Maple Grove.  George had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make people smile.  He enjoyed polka dancing, going to the Casinos, playing cards, sending greeting cards, gardening, the outdoors, woodworking, art, and working with his hands.  He loved spending time with his family and being at his cabin up north.  George was a wonderful man and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory include three sons and two daughters, Debra (Kim) Hajek of New Lothrop, Gregory (Karen) Lorencz of Jackson, Griffin (Kristy) Lorencz of St. Charles, Glen Lorencz of Chesaning, and Delora (Rob) Bishop of Chesaning; daughter-in-law, Janet (Gerding) Lorencz of Chesaning; his grandchildren, Cameron Lorencz, Alex and Becca Lorencz, Corey (Shannon) Hajek, Casey (Jessie) Hajek, Carrie Ann (Neil) Church, Kelly Lorencz, Michael (Jaclyn) Ritchie, Mathew Ritchie, Casey (Jessica) Ritchie, Brad (Amanda) Lorencz, Colin Lorencz, Clinton Bishop (fiancée Kourtney), and Shelby Bishop; great-grandchildren, Haleigh Hajek, Leah Hajek, Kinsley Lorencz, Abigail Bishop, Johnathon Summers, and Drake Pickleman; his sister, Julia (Tom) Mahoney; several very special nieces and nephews; special friend, Joni Hajek; Army buddy, Stanley (Helen) Timmermann of Breese, IL; his cat, Taylor; and other loving family and friends.  George was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy; sons, George Douglas Lorencz and Gorden Lorencz; daughter, Denella Lorencz; his father and mother; brothers, Steve, Bill, James, Frank, and Julius; and sisters, Elizabeth, Anna, Mary, and Helen.
