Passed away Tuesday morning, April 19, 2016, at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing.  His age was 69 years.  Cremation has taken place.  His memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016, at the New Life Assembly of God Church, 14700 Lincoln Road, Chesaning.  Rev. Michelle Haar and Pastor Joe Rodriguez will officiate.  His family will be present at the church to welcome friends from 1:00 p.m. Saturday until time of the service.

 

Frank was born in Standish, Michigan on December 27, 1946, the son of Frank and Beatrice C. (Grantham) Szybala.  He married Amy J. Cook in Walled Lake, Michigan on June 20, 1970.  Frank graduated from Bay City Central High School.  He attended and graduated in 1969 from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. He later completed and received his Masters’ Degree from Central Michigan University.

 

Mr. Szybala worked as a Consultant with the New Lothrop High School counselors and also filled in as a substitute teacher.  He retired from the Hill-McCloy High School in Montrose as a High School Counselor after working 37 years.  Frank was also the former owner of the Village Pizza in Chesaning and Montrose.  People would come from miles around just for his pizza.

 

Mr. Szybala was currently serving as the Pastor at the New Life Assembly of God Church of Chesaning.  He loved spending time with his family and helping others.  He was an avid hockey fan and enjoyed traveling around Michigan looking for unique spots of interest.

 

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Amy; his daughter, Jennah (Rick) Foster and their children, Jeric and Violet; his son, David J. Szybala and his fiancée, Bernadette Labelle; a brother, David Roger (JoAnn) Szybala of Portage; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Molly.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
