Dear David,
Today would have been your 61st Birthday. I cannot come visit your grave, but you have been on my mind all day. so I am sending you a message to you in heaven. I would bake you an upside down pineapple cake every year if it would bring you back and change everything. We all miss you terribly, it never gets any easier. So I wrote you another poem , much happier that the one at your funeral, sorry about that I was very sad. But it was how I was feeling.

In heaven
Remembering your smile
That brought joy to us
Hope
Dancing
Angels comfort
Your days while
White clouds and
Indigo
Skies embrace
Heart warming visions of all the wonder your life had created.

Sharing a very special childhood memory that I have often thought of over the years having the privilege of growing up just down the road from aunt Irma and uncle Dick I remember David walking to our house looking for my brother Jerry I told David that Jerry wasn't home. He smiled said thanks and started walking home I remember feeling so bad that he had walked down there and Jerry wasn't there I started to follow him a little ways down the road he turned around and asked me if I was following him I told him yes he said to me don't follow me come up here and walk with me we finished walking to his house on the way he told me that he might even have a surprise for me at his house and he sure did he took me into the garage and showed me some kittens that had just been born a few days before I remember that like it was yesterday, a special act of kindness from a very special cousin. Rest in peace David you will be missed but never forgotten by all the many people who loved you..aunt Irma, uncle Dick, Loretta and Peter there are no words to express the pain of a broken heart but just know that there are thoughts and prayers to each and everyone of you thank you for being such a beautiful part of my childhood from aunt Irma is hollyhocks to Larreta teaching me how to color to watching Pete carve and standing in the yard waiting for uncle Dick to go by in his old blue truck ....

Jenny, Thank you for the beautiful tribute. It made us all cry because your words demonstrated his true personality. David was kind, gentle and such a hard worker. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. We were all blessed to have family living so close.
