Clare A. Drexler
At peace at last, Clare went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 2, 2016. He was 72 years old.
Clare was born on March 11, 1944, to Harold and Helen (Salzwedel) Drexler. He was predeceased by his brother Clifford, and survived by his sister, Karen (Drexler) Kruske, and his brother, Mike. Clare was married to Jane (Gasser) Drexler on May 21, 1966, and was father to six children, including Michelle (John) Schroeder, Carrie (Jason) Brown, John (Amy) Drexler, Albert Drexler, Catherine (Scott) Kohagen, and Brian (Ashley) Drexler. Clare also very much enjoyed being “Papa” to his twelve grandchildren: Ryan Schroeder, Olivia Drexler, Wesley Drexler, Isaac Drexler, Nicholas Schroeder, Zachary Brown, Tyler Brown, Ben Schroeder, Ethan Kohagen, Paige Brown, Sam Schroeder and Parker Kohagen.
Clare spent eight years as an Army Reservist and worked for thirty five years at General Motors and Delphi Automotive, where he retired as a supervisor. A volunteer firefighter for many years, Clare served as Assistant Chief and worked with the department on securing a grant for the land and the new fire barn.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016, at Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning. Family will receive guests starting at 3:00 p.m. with a service at 6:00 p.m.. A Firemen’s Tribute will immediately follow the service.
