Passed away Friday morning, September 9, 2016, at her home.  She was 90 years old.  Cremation has taken place.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2016, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 1629 Brady Street, Chesaning with Rev. Tim Woycik officiating.  Bette’s family will be present at the church to welcome friends from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until time of the service.

Bette was born in Corunna, Michigan on August 13, 1926.  She was the daughter of Gus and Helen (Stevenson) Foess.  Bette married Ben Wilbur in Owosso, Michigan on April 26, 1946.  They were married for over 61 years before his death in 2007.  Bette owned and operated her own business, “Needle in the Haystack”, where she worked as a seamstress and made doll clothing and teddy bears.  She recently celebrated her 90th birthday with a party in her honor that was well attended by a large group of family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved four children, Ben (Linda) Wilbur of Pasadena, CA, Rodney Wilbur of Grand Rapids, Betsy Soupal of Chesaning, and Brian (Beate) Wilbur of Owosso; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her dear sister, Nina Sober of Charlotte; and many nieces and nephews.  Those who passed before her include her parents; her beloved husband, Ben; a brother, Ernest Foess; a sister, Evie Foess; and a daughter, Patty Dyer, in 2012.

Charitable donations given in memory of Bette may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church.
