Passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 16, 2016, at the Ashley Care Center at the age of 84.  Bernard’s funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2016, at the Misiuk Funeral Home of Chesaning.  Pastor John James will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Ridge Road Cemetery in Brady Township.  His visitation will be 2:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday and from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.

 

Bernard was born in Chapin Township on June 20, 1931, the son of Frederick and Sarah (Whitney) Wicke.  Bernard was a farmer.  He also did maintenance work at Roycraft and Meadowood Apartments.  He enjoyed hunting, traveling up north, and playing the guitar in Jamborees with his wife, Arlene.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Jill Wicke of Ithaca, Ken Wicke of DeWitt, Joan Elliot (and Tom Atkins) of Grand Ledge; three step-sons, Chris (Rose) Schwab, Ron (Sharon) Schwab, and Dan (Evelyn) Blazo, all of Chesaning; several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Loved ones who have passed away include his wife, Arlene in 2005; their daughter, Sue Nazario; and his sisters, Ruth Coleman and Maxine Malkaski.
