Agnes Strachota of Chapin Twp., age 86, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018, in her home with her loving family at her side. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday January 15, 2018, at The Trinity United Methodist Church, 1629 Brady Road (M-57), Chesaning. Pastor Tim Woycik will officiate. Burial will follow at the Ridge Road Cemetery in Brady Twp. Visitation for Mrs. Strachota will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at The Misiuk Funeral Home of Chesaning. Her family will be present at the church to greet relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. Monday until time of the funeral service.
Agnes was born in New Lothrop on March 20, 1931, the daughter of Joseph and Rose (Santrucek) Vostrirancky. Agnes attended school in Eureka, MI. She married Joseph Tony Strachota in St. Johns, MI on November 8, 1947. They were married for over 43 years before he passed away on February 9, 1991.
Mrs. Strachota worked along with her husband on their farm raising their five children. She loved family time with her grandkids and especially her great-grandchildren. She spent winters in Florida where she enjoyed her friends and family who came to visit. Agnes enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading, collecting dolls, baking, and canning. She also loved square dancing and polka dancing with her husband.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Elaine (Gary) Azelton, Joan (Charles) Guziak, Diane (Paul) Bueche, and Don (Kris) Strachota; daughter-in-law, Paula Strachota; 14 grandkids; 26 great-grandchildren; brothers, Emil Vostrirancky and Ernie (Pat) Vostrirancky; sister, Rosemary Liss; and other loving family and friends. Those who have passed away before her include her parents; her beloved husband, Joseph Tony Strachota; a son, Thomas Strachota; sister, Mildred Dush; brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Rosemary Voss; and brother-in-law, Robert Liss.
